Dr Shevel has proven that headache pain is actually caused by the anatomical structures outside the skull; muscles, arteries, tendons and nerves. Dr Shevel does an intricate physical examination on each patient to find the structures responsible for causing your pain.

Medical research has shown that in most headache sufferers the pain does not originate in the brain, but from the structures outside the skull.

• In most headache sufferers, headache pain is caused by the brain confusing pain signals from other anatomical structures. Very often these are tendons that connect neck muscles to the head. When these tendons become painful they create referred pain that presents as a headache.
• The desensitisation procedure, is a very precise procedure that uses a cautery needle to permanently numb the pain signals from these tendons, while allowing the tendons to continue to function normally. It is done under local anaesthesia and takes around 45 mins. 
• This headache treatment has a 95% success rate and permanently eliminates headache pain. Dr Shevel pioneered this treatment after decades of research and is the only doctor in the world that understands how to perform this procedure.

• The PMA is a thin and comfortable custom-made plate worn against your palate. The PMA balances your body posture by adjusting the tongue position, which in turn relaxes the jaw, and then the muscles around the temples, cascading relaxation in the muscles all the way down to the neck and back. 
• This re-calibration of the muscle equilibrium improves the patient posture. Once equilibrium is restored and all the contributing muscles have relaxed, the pain dissipates and harmony is restored.
